We must strictly follow a consistent train of thought, and if a beginning, middle and end of all good, is directed to only one good - a sign of good angel. But if a number of ideas, inspired by an angel, what a wicked thing visible or distracting, or less good than that which the soul first to commit, or if anything weakens the soul, or makes her anxious and depressed, taking away her peace, silence and calm, which she previously had, it is a clear sign of origin of these thoughts from an evil spirit, enemy of our prosperity and eternal salvation.
